Draw: Low numbers favoured in sprints.
Flat and National Hunt. This is a right-handed track of approximately one mile three furlongs in circumference and a distance from the home turn of two and a half furlongs, with very sharp turns and undulations. There is a seven furlong straight track on the Flat, although seven furlong races can also be run on the round course. On the jumping track there are run-ins from the final obstacle of 220 yards (chases) and 250 yards (hurdles). On both the flat and national hunt courses this is a venue where long-striding horses are at a disadvantage.
Folkestone, the only track in Kent, is now a member of the Arena Leisure Group of courses. Although top-class horses are rarely seen at this venue, it does provide plenty of competitive action throughout the year. The management are embarking on a strategy of improving the National Hunt programme over the next few years.
