A horseshoe shaped left-handed course measuring a mile and a half, consisting of easy turns with a run-in of three and a half furlongs.
Very undulating in nature, the track favours small well balanced types, especially front runners. It can be an advantage to be drawn low although the opposite is often true in soft going when runners track over to the stands side.
The course actually stands on a chalk base and does tend to drain very well.
